This edition, devoted to those cells that line the body protecting surfaces and secreting or absorbing material, provides revised descriptions of fundamental and practical aspects relating to the in vitro cultivation of disparate types of epithelia. Each chapter is devoted to a different type of epithelium--epidermal, mammary, cervical, prostatic, oral, intestinal, pulmonary, hepatic, and urothelial. Freshney contributes a final chapter on a number of epithelia not covered in the main chapters, presenting them together in review form.
