Environmental scanning electron microscopy at ISI AS CR

Environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM) creates new possibilities in the field of examination various types of specimens and their phases. #img_340#.<> Experimental and non-commercial environmental scanning electron microscope AQUASEM II was build at the ISI ASCR in cooperation with the TESCAN ltd. This microscope is equipped with unique differentially pumped chamber and temperature isolated hydration system with Peltier cooled specimen holder for observation highly wet and sensitive biological specimens. The main task of this microscope is to make possibilities and conditions for investigation and development of special detector systems for working in high pressure conditions and enable to carry out of complicate "in situ" dynamic experiments such as melting, solidification, dissolution and chemical reactions.
