Type of job: full-time
Genetic profile of galectins in normal and tumour tissues with special focus on the detection of tumour-associated changes of selected genetic markers. The expression of genes coding for galectins and galectin ligands in selected biological systems and clinical samples will be analysed using high throughput sequencing, DNA and RNA analysis with Real Time PCR and microarrays, as well as histochemical methods (LMU, CUNI). The main scope will be the search for genetic markers for routine diagnostic, and the development of new approaches for their detection, analysis and diagnostic evaluation. The project will provide the ER with a profound knowledge on how to handle and analyze clinical specimen (tissue and sera), in collaboration also with UKL-HD, using a broad repertoire of molecular and genetic methods. As a part of the training, courses on development of CE IVD test kits, legal and ethical issues of genetic testing as well as on company setup & management will be provided.
