Fellowship for a PhD Student

Type of job: full-time

We are seeking a motivated PhD student who will join the International Clinical Research Center of St. Anne´s University Hospital in Brno, the Czech Republic (FNUSA – ICRC) for a PhD program beginning earliest in Q1 2018. The PhD program is designed for three years with a regular yearly evaluation.

The program applicants are encouraged to prepare one page research proposal of their individual research interest matching with one of the research areas of FNUSA-ICRC teams (to see the list of teams and further information please visit http://www.fnusa-icrc.org/en/research.html) and with the standard PhD framework at Masaryk University since the university is the authority to grant the degree. The research proposal should include the applicant´s background, hypothesis, specific aims, experimental design and expected results. The best research proposals will be selected by an International Board of recognized researchers in early October 2017.

The program participants will receive a competitive start-up package including a salary and a credit of EUR 100 to publish in international journal and an opportunity to present at a conference or workshop.

Job Description:

• Undertake independent research under the direction of your mentor
• Design, perform and analyze experiments and write papers
• Acquire new skills as required by the project
• Write, edit and submit manuscripts/abstracts detailing the results of the project
• Present at a conference or workshop

Desirable Qualifications: 

• Master degree in one of the areas relevant for FNUSA-ICRC (for further information please see http://www.fnusa-icrc.org/en/research.html)
• Active or planned enrolment in PhD
• Well organized, responsible, self-motivated, creative and flexible attitude
• Positive and team-work personality
