Genetics of eye color was explained by australian scientists. Their work was published in the last issue of American Journal of Human Genetics. Their work revealed that eye color is unfluenced by single nucleotide polymorphism (term is clearly explained at www.wikipedia.org) located in gene called OCA2.
This gene produces a protein which is partially responsible for hair, skin and eye color. Mutation of OCA2 also causes albinism.
