Getting together at PHARM Connect 2013!

Date: 26.11.2012

Biotech and Pharma professionals getting together to overcome industry-specific challenges and develop genuine partnerships at PHARM Connect

In the aftermath of the global recession, the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry has been facing new challenges. In the transforming environment - from healthcare reforms, the near-extinction of blockbuster drugs, to changing regulations - companies have little choice but to adapt their approach and address the key challenges that together form a new market landscape. Those who fail to address these changes now risk being overtaken by adaptive competitors. It is clear that the pursuit of creative collaboration and partnerships among all players of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry is a key requirement of success in the moving market landscape.

Recognising the importance of genuine partnerships in the changing industry, PHARM Connect Congress will bring together Central and Eastern Europe’s most prominent pharmaceutical and biotechnology professionals and the leading solution providers from Europe to collaborate, network and discuss the pressing issues of the future. No wonder that the market leading event - taking place in the *****Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal in Budapest, on 27-28 February, 2013 for the third time – has now became a must-attend for every key decision maker in CEE.

Addressing the challenges of tomorrow

Companies in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector face challenges that are not encountered in other industries: therefore, it is essential for smart players to be aware of the most up-to-date market trends and to gain knowledge about the rapidly changing environment. For their benefit, the conference program of PHARM Connect has been put together with the help of a committee consisting of well-known and recognized industry experts, which ensures that the most relevant and latest R&D, production, engineering, supply chain and quality management-related topics will be covered during these two days in Budapest. For instance, Prof. Dr. Thomas Friedli, the Chair of Production Management at University of St. Gallen in Switzerland will share his views about the next generation of OPEX, Amer Alghabban, the Director of Global Quality Assurance Auditing at Merck Serono will speak about the impact and implications of the new EU pharmacoviligance legislations and Dr. Zsolt Szombathelyi, the Research Director of Gedeon Richter will give tips on how to keep the R&D pipeline innovative. The panel of speakers will also include Prof. Dr. Tamás L. Paál, the Senior Adviser of the National Institute for Quality- and Organizational Development in Healthcare and Medicines in Hungary and the Scientific Director and Founder of KPS Diagnostics, Dr. István Peták, among many others.

Forging effective relationships

The development of genuine partnerships with solution providers must be at the heart of the commercial model of successful pharmaceutical and biotech companies. For this reason, PHARM Connect puts an exceptional emphasis on bringing together the most prominent decision-makers and the key solution providers to discuss innovative collaborations of mutual benefit in every individual case during guaranteed pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings. Efficient and innovative services will be demonstrated by the most important European solution providers at the congress, such as PHOENIX, Cemelog, Festo, Menadiona, Sartorius Stedim, Bosch Packaging Technology, Aptar Pharma, Brinox, Schreiner MediPharm, DHL, Fette, Evonik Industries, Agility, ABB, Forbo Flooring, F.I.S., ETDE,  and many more.

PHARM Connect will bring together over 500 key decision-makers of the most important pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies from at least 20 different countries of the region, to provide them with an interactive platform where they can effectively share their ideas and come up with solutions that address their specific challenges and needs. The professional atmosphere will be complemented by more informal networking opportunities – like a plant excursion to the GSK Biologicals plant and a cocktail reception on the first evening – because we all know that sometimes the best partnerships emerge from a coffee or a drink shared with a fellow professional. The importance of the event has been recognized by all major associations and governmental ministries throughout Europe, who also joined forces in endorsing the congress all over the region and beyond. PHARM Connect stimulates collaboration and communication, that are both essential for success: it is a platform to see and be seen at for every dedicated professional.
