With over 3.3 billion people living in areas at risk of malaria transmission and over 3000 of them dying every day, malaria is one of the most deadly disease worldwide. Even though this mosquito-borne disease is known to strike for over 10 000 years no really efficient and safe treatment has been developed during this period. Will promising new antimalarial drug developed by researchers from University of South Florida cease the disease?
Malaria is a serious disease caused by a parasite known as protest that commonly infects a certain type of mosquito which feeds on humans. Symptoms of malaria are typically very sick with high fevers, shaking chills, and flu-like illness and untreated may be fatal.
