The Institute of Animal Physiology and Genetics AS CR, v.v.i. (IAPG), opens a competition for new posts of Heads of Starting Research Groups, beginning 2013. The research topic of the new group should fit into the focus of the IAPG, i.e. research of various aspects of vertebrate physiology and genetics that include but are not limited to: a) Animal Physiology b) Developmental Biology c) Regenerative Medicine d) Large Animal Models for biomedical research e) Cancer Research f) Stem Cell Research g) Genomics h) Ecology i) Evolution Biology Currently IAPG is focused on the following animal models: mice, rats, pigs, rabbits and fish. The Institute will provide adequate laboratory space in its building and partial financial support for applicant salary.
Applicants should fulfill the following criteria:
1. At least 2 years of postdoctoral experience, abroad positions are beneficial
2. (Co)authorship of several publications in impacted international journals
3. High motivation for research leading and clear vision of the future research direction
4. Possess provable ability to acquire grant resources for their research.
This competition is made as opened and applications may be provided continuously during entire course of the year 2012. The applicants should provide the following documents completed as one pdf file to the office of the secretary, (in electronic form, at the address: uzfg@iapg.cas.cz; the receipt will be confirmed): 1. Short professional CV 2. List of publications in impacted journals (including citation rate) 3. List of three publications considered as the most important by the applicant and short comments of these papers 4. Proposal of the research program of the group for the first 3 years, including proposal of personnel and financial provision (requirements toward the Institute, coverage by the applicant's own grants). This proposal should not exceed 3 pages. In the course of the year 2012 the selected applicants will be invited for a personal interview with the selection committee and will be asked to present a public lecture on their current work and planned work at the Institute.
