The 2nd edition of PHARM Connect, held in February 2012 in Budapest, confirmed again being the must-attend event for pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector professionals operating in Central and Eastern Europe. Jörg Hennecke, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing Eastern Europe at KÜHNE + NAGEL, who attended as a vendor was one of many to be extremely impressed with what he had experienced: „It is a well organised structure, and also a good place to make connections. PHARM Connect is the only one of its kind in Eastern Europe!"
The quality of the congress was a direct result of its exclusivity. The Programme Advisory Committee supported the development of the conference programme, which was presented by the most prominent key European Pharma industry professionals, who ensured the highest relevance and covered the most up-to-date market insights into R&D, production, engineering, supply chain and quality management-related topics.
Moreover, the CORINTHIA Grand Hotel Royal offered the perfect setting for local and international solution-providers to present their products and services directly to key decision-makers across Europe. Several weeks in advance the online TEG Meeting Scheduler was made available to solution-providers and the over 350 delegates attending from 18 different countries from Central Eastern Europe, which is more than a 75% increase in regional coverage compared to the previous edition. Through the Meeting Scheduler over 1100 pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings were arranged, which again, is a significant increase of over 36% compared to 2011. Ariel Lasry, EMEA Vertical Leader, Life Sciences, Rockwell Automation, who attended as a vendor, summarised his experience using the unique format and TEG Meeting Scheduler, with the following words: "The event was again very well-balanced between networking, lead generation and also very professional speeches. The Meeting Scheduler which The Events Group has, I think, is the best in the industry. This concept is, I think, the only concept that works for the life science industry."
PHARM Connect 2012 was supported by over 30 media partners, approximately 8 key trade associations locally and internationally, which further guaranteed the regional scope of the event. On top PHARM Connect 2012 was opened by Professor Thomas Friedli, Chair of Production Management at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland followed by further speeches from other dominant players within the industry, such as Professor Vas, Senior Research Adviser at Gedeon Richter, Wojciech Kisielnicki, Supply Chain Director at Polpharma, and Dr. Jens Scheibner, Executive Director Pharma Operations at Boehringer Ingelheim. Furthermore, there was an exclusive cocktail reception which was opened by Dr. Sergei Sur, R&D Director at Arterium and Dr. Richard Schwab, Director at Human Biotechnology CRC which provided an excellent opportunity for all participants to network and benchmark with each other in a relaxed environment.
In addition, the congress provided an exclusive opportunity to take part in specially organised plant visits to the Sanofi Pharmaceutical Core Solids division in Veresegyház and to the Teva Logistic Centre in Gödöllő, the world's largest generic drug maker with direct presence in about 60 countries.
Due to the huge success, PHARM Connect which has become the market leading event for pharmaceutical and biotechnology professionals in CEE will be taking place again in February 2013. Do not miss your opportunity to join the 3rd edition of PHARM Connect to network, establish connections, exchange ideas and gain knowledge.
