Type of job: full-time
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the “Algal Biotechnology Lab“ for a full-time temporary research position in the frame of both European and Czech Research projects. Projects are focused on screening and developing heterotrophical growth protocols in laboratory and pilot scale.
We expect the candidate to grow algal cultures in the laboratory under defined heterotrophical conditions.
DESIRED QUALIFICATION
The candidate is expected to have a PhD in one of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biophysics and/or related topics.
COMPETENCIES which are desirable or will constitute an advantage during the selection are:
1- Basic familiarity with microbiological and biochemical methods;
2 - Practical knowledge of algal culturing;
3 - Project organisation and experiment planning.

ABOUT US
ALGATECH – The Centre of Algal Biotechnology is an internationally recognised centre for fundamental and applied research of microalgae and cyanobacteria, including the development of algal biotechnology. It is the largest centre of microalgae research in Central Europe. Centre also operates unique thin - layer cultivation units for auto-trophic cultivation and a biotechnological hall for heterotrophic cultivation of microalgae, including the equipment for processing algal biomass. The Centre is known for its excellent fundamental research in photosynthesis.
