The Center of Biomedical Research (OPVK CZ.1.07/2.3.00/30.0025), Institute of Physiology, Academy of Sciences, Prague, Czech Republic is seeking applicant for postdoctoral position (starting January 1, 2014) with strong motivation to lead research on synaptic transmission modulation of nociceptive signalling .
EU-funded, possibility to proceed research in the new biotechnical and biomedical research centre BIOCEV in Prague (see http://www.biocev.eu/). The position includes teaching of undergraduate students.
General conditions for the applicants:
Duration: January 1, 2014 - May 31, 2015
Salary: 50 000 CZK per month, startup money to cover consumables and travel money for training in cooperating laboratory during the period.
Requirements:
Suitable candidate should have an appropriate experience in one or more of the following fields: molecular biology, electrophysiology, cellular physiology, biochemistry, imaging using 2photon microscope. The successful applicant will apply state-of-the-art electrophysiological, molecular biology and fluorescence-based tools to investigate modulation of synaptic transmission at the spinal cord level under control conditions and in models of neuropathic pain.
The Department of Functional Morphology has a long-standing tradition in pain research. The department is housed in the Institute of Physiology (http://www.biomed.cas.cz/fgu/en/index.php), which integrates diverse scientific expertises in molecular and physiological science. This position offers a possibility to proceed the research in the new biomedical research centre BIOCEV http://www.biocev.eu/ in the year 2015.
