Centrum výzkumu globální změny AV ČR, v. v. i. vyhlašuje v souladu se zákonem č. 283/1992 Sb. o Akademii věd České republiky, ve znění zákona č. 420/2005 Sb. a Stanov AV ČR výběrové řízení na pozici full-time employee for a position of a profesisional researcher (postdoc category) with expertise in: Characterisation and selection of photosynthetic organisms using microscopic imaging techniques in biotechnology.

Job description:

The main task of the employment will be research, publication activities and preparation of grant proposals within the Global Change Research Centre, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, v.v.i., in order to develop methods for the characterization of selected algae and cyanobacteria, their selection and subsequent culturing. It is expected to use these methods in biotechnological applications, especially for cultivations in algal photobioreactors.

Requirements for qulification:

1. Duly completed doctoral studies at university (Ph.D.) with a focus related to any of the following fields: biophysics, biochemistry.
2. Experience in research in the area of imaging techniques and fluorescence microscopy.
3. Experience at work with cell cultures.
4. Experience with fluorescent staining of algae and cyanobacteria cells.
5. The ability of independent scientific work, including publications in IF journals.
6. Good knowledge of English language.
7. Capability of working with computer technology at a level usual for the position of a researcher.
8. Experience with the preparation of grant applications and implementation of research projects.

Welcomed expertise and capabilities:

1. Experience with a software for image and statistical analysis.
2. General overview and orientation in the field of microscopic analysis and analysis of fluorescencet signals.
3. General overview on biology of photosynthetic microorganisms.
4. Experience with cooperation with foreign institutions or international organizations.
5. Previous publications in IF journals.
