A new protein-rich potato developed by university researchers in India could one day be fed to school children to help combat malnutrition in the world's second most populous country.
Manju Sharma, head of the Indian Ministry of Science and Technology's department of biotechnology, recently said the genetically enhanced "protato" could be cleared for commercial production within six months to help "reduce the malnutrition problem in the country."
