CEITEC at the Masaryk University Brno seeks to appoint a senior-level scientist as a research Group Leader of a new RG Neurogenetics, Brain and Mind Research Programme.
Ideal candidate should employ multi-disciplinary approach making use of the expertise and equipment within Research Programs of CEITEC Brain and Mind Research / Molecular Medicine, have a strong background in neurosciences and ability to bridge molecular biology, neurology/psychiatry and genetics.
Successful candidates must hold a PhD degree in a relevant field and are expected to have an independent and internationally competitive research profile and to attract external funding. A competitive start-up package will be offered.
The research should focus on identification and characterization of gene function relevant to neurological disease at the level of cells or organisms. Linking disrupted gene function as a contributor or a leading cause of disease state, with the interest to uncover novel mechanisms of disease, is highly welcome.
The RG will benefit from excellent working conditions at CEITEC and have access to multidisciplinary expertise and state-of-the-art technological facilities comprised.
CEITEC (http://www.ceitec.eu/) is a scientific center in the fields of life sciences, advanced materials and technologies whose aim is to establish itself as a recognized center for basic as well as applied research.
