Type of job: full-time
We are seeking outstanding applicants for Senior and Junior Researcher positions, who are willing to accept the challenge of working on his/her own projects in the field of hormonal regulations of plant development in the Group of Functional Genomics and Proteomics of Plants at CEITEC MU, Brno, Czech Republic.
Group of Functional Genomics and Proteomics of Plants (FGPP) and the Laboratory of Molecular Plant Physiology (LMPP), both under supervision of Jan Hejátko (for more details seehttp://www.ceitec.muni.cz/ and http://www.sci.muni.cz/FGP/, respectively) is interested in studies of molecular mechanisms underlying hormonal regulations of several aspects of plant development. We are employing both functional genomics and proteomics approaches in the study of cytokinin signalling and action and interaction of cytokinin (CK) signalling pathways with other factors, particularly auxin and light.
The Senior Researcher position will allow building of own working team in frame of the group and is expected to apply for his/her own grant projects in frame of the main research aims of the FGPP group and under group leader supervision.
The positions are opened for two candidates in the field of
Structural Proteomics approaches are being used in the FGPP to unravel molecular determinants of specificity in the CK signalling based on multistep phosphorelay (MSP). The FGPP is fully equipped for protein expression and purification (shakers for E. coli cultivation, FPLC). In the end of 2011, the equipment will be further extended and new instrumentation will be installed (automated bioreactors for E. coli cultivation uner tightly regulated conditions, CD spectrophotometer, 2 x FPLC). The FGPP Group comprises Protein Structure Analysis working team, experienced in the protein crystallization and X-ray crystallography and the Group has tight collaboration with Structural Biology Programme at CEITEC.
Differential Proteomics approach is employed in the FGPP by elucidating the plant hormone-mediated proteome changes and their importance in the regulation of selected developmental processes. The working team has close collaboration with Core Facility (CF) Proteomics that is being run by Genomics and Proteomics of Plant Systems Programme at CEITEC. The CF Proteomics performs complete service including protein separation (both 2-DE and LC), image analysis and MS-based protein identification (for more detailed description of CF Proteomics seehttp://www.ceitec.muni.cz/).
The selected candidates are expected to overtake supervision over recent projects and further develop the aforementioned directions of research in the group. The beginning of the employment relationship is negotiable.
Please send electronically your CV including the list of publications, obtained research grants (if any) and brief description of your teaching experience (if any) at: recruitment(at)ceitec.muni.cz
The applications must be received by 31 October, 2011, to ensure consideration.
