Type of job: full-time
Institute of Molecular Genetics of the ASCR, v. v. i. (IMG) invites applications for full-time researcher positions in the project "Establishment of the Centre of Transgenic Technologies".
The purpose of the project is to create a new Centre of Transgenic Technologies (CTT) for gene-related research in mouse, rat, and fish models. We are seeking outstanding young experts and specialists who will create targeting vectors, improve targeting strategies and generate transgenic animal models. The successful candidate will have PhD (or equivalent) in related field with relevant research experience and publications. We especially encourage post-docs in early stages of their careers to apply.
The available postdoc positions should cover the following areas:
- BAC recombineering and generation of reporter mouse models
- transposon- or adenoviral-mediated transgenesis
- generation of conditional knock-out/knock-in models for embryogenesis studies or
tumor induction
- application of TAL-effector-nucleases technology in generation of mouse models
- generation of transgenic fish models
- generation of Cre-expressing animal models
- application of Zinc-finger nucleases in transgenesis
- knock-in/knock-out technologies and tissue markers expression
- bioinformatics genome analysis
- generation of ES cells and iPS
All selected candidates will participate in educational activities for graduate students, PhDs and other researchers.
We are offering a new state-of-the-art equipped centre with experienced colleagues, excellent collaboration conditions, international working environment, fellowships and other opportunities for international cooperation, and competitive salary based on the candidate's experience and records.
All positions are available from April 2012 to March 2015. After this period, successful researchers will have the opportunity to get further appointments within the EU-funded BIOCEV research centre (www.biocev.eu).
The Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Academy of Sciences is a leading Czech research institute in the field of molecular biology and genetics that sets up the CTT as part BIOCEV project, in which biomedical research institutes of the Academy of Sciences and two faculties of Charles University are involved. This new scientific centre is going to be built in the municipality of Vestec in the close vicinity of Prague and should employ up to 600 persons.
