Research associate/ Staff scientist in signal pathways and molecular target profiling

CZ-OPENSCREEN: National Infrastructure of Chemical Biology (Institute of Molecular Genetics, Prague) is seeking a highly-motivated candidate for cellular and biochemical profiling of bioactive compounds and potential drugs.
Job description:
- Development and execution of HTS (high-throughput screening) experiments
- Coordination of small team of 2-4 scientists/research associates
- Tissue culture work using standard cancer cell lines and primary cells
- Assay development for HTS profiling of compound libraries
- Phenotype-based assays using widefield/confocal microscopy and label-free impedance-based technology
- Advanced image analysis, data mining, cellular signaling pathways deconvolution, identification of new molecular targets and molecular mechanisms of bioactivity of bioactive compounds.
Required skills/qualification:
- PhD in biochemistry and molecular/cell biology or related biomedical areas
- Knowledge of cell signaling and biochemical pathways
- Personal skills such as decision-making, ability to communicate and collaborate with other team members, effective time organization
- Ability to present and publish the results of scientific work
- Independence, creativity, flexibility, abstract and critical thinking
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Salary and additional information:
We offer competitive salary dependent on candidate’s experience. The contract is initially for 1 year with the possible extension up to 5 years.
