Head of Junior Research Group

Type of job: full-time

The Institute of Molecular Genetics AS CR, v.v.i. (IMG), opens competition for two new posts of Heads of Junior Research Groups, beginning 2013, one in the field of Molecular Immunology and one in the field of Molecular Mechanisms of DNA Damage Response. The Institute will provide adequate laboratory space in its building and partial financial support for salaries.

Applicants should fulfill the following criteria:

1) At least 2 years of postdoctoral experience abroad

2) (Co)authorship of several publications in high-quality international journals;

3) High motivation for basic molecular biology research.

4) Possess sufficient grant resources to support their research.

By May 31, 2012, the applicants should provide the following documents to the Director of the Institute (in electronic form, at the address: office@img.cas.cz; the receipt will be confirmed): 1) Short professional CV 2) List of publications in impacted journals (and how many citations they received) 3) List of three publications considered as the most important by the applicant 4) Short proposal of the research program of the group for the first 3 years, including proposal of personnel and financial provision (requirements toward the Institute, coverage by the applicant's own grants). This proposal should not exceed 2 pages. In the course of May-June 2012 the selected applicants will be invited for personal interview with the selection committee and may be asked to present public lectures on their work at the Institute. The applicants will be informed about the result of the competition no later than June 30, 2012; the successful candidates will enter further, more detailed negotiations.
