WTEC Panel Report on Tissue Engineering Research

Over 150 papers from the September 1994 Veldhoven Meeting, The Netherlands, present the "state-of-the-art" in animal cell culture technology. The contributions describe research in seven areas of the field: cloning and selection strategies, culture performance, protein processing, protein engineering, regulatory issues, animal cell bioreactors, and new developments in tissue engineering and apoptosis and novel applications. Some of the more innovative, featured topics deal with the construction and selection of cells with favorable properties, r-DNA technology failures, and developing concerns regarding viral safety.
