Description: | YEBN was founded in December 2002 in Bertinoro, Italy, by four student organisations active in several European countries. Today, YEBN consist of several hundred members in 14 European countries. Each country constitutes a team of YEBN representatives, called Country Board. About 30 active members constitute the core team, maintaining YEBN’s functions in the Executive Board and our administrative structure which is called “Project0”, besides having a growing number of active members in affiliated projects. Most of YEBN members are graduate or PhD students in the subject of life sciences or biotechnology. Everyone is welcome to join in and initiate activities at YEBN. Also we encourage persons with different backgrounds but strong interest in biotechnology to join to create a fruitful interdisciplinary forum. YEBN is an information hub and a networking meeting point: Europe is a rich array of different cultures and countries and the past has seen many vital contributions to science coming from Europe. The Life Science sector itself is still young and evolving, but sometimes limited through national borders. In the age of information, knowledge is a crucial advantage. |
