The Institute for BioMedical Engineering is a scientific and teaching establishment of the Czech Technical University in Prague. It comprises the Computer-Supported Medical Diagnostics Laboratory, the Magnetic Resonance Laboratory, and the Department of Biomedical Technology. The Institute collaborates with all faculties of the Czech Technical University, with the 1st and 3rd medical faculties of Charles University, with foreign research establishments (e.g., Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum, Heidelberg, Germany) and selected medical institutions. The Institute organizes courses in biomedical engineering mainly for students of CTU in Prague, and has been given the task of introducing a bachelor study programme in Biomedical and Clinical Technology. It is the central coordinating unit for CTU research and teaching activities in the field of biomedical engineering, and participates in elaborating applications for grant supported interdisciplinary research projects.
