The Faculty of Forestry and Environment of the Czech University of Agriculture Prague went thought a relatively long and not easy development in its history. Established in the 1919, as a member of the Czech Technical University, it was unified together with other institutions to form the new University of Agriculture. After few years, Faculty was closed due to political reasons and its restoration took place again in 1990, following the social changes in our country. The continuity of superior forestry environment and ecology research, science, and partially also education was maintained by the relic Institute of Forestry Sciences in Kostelec nad Černými lesy town. Since the Faculty was restored and the basic spatial conditions and development possibilities were determined, it successively became an even-level member of the academic society in the Czech Republic, Europe and Worldwide. The main branches of the University studies, research and academic progress were set in the fields: forestry, wood processing, landscape management, and ecology. At present, 14 programs of the Bc and Mg studies are being accredited in Czech language and 1 program (Forestry, Water and Landscape Management) in English. Besides, the volume, quality and importance of scientific and research activities are continuously increasing. Member of the Association of Universities of the Third Age, contact: Prof. Ing.
