Department of Silviculture

The activity of the Department of Silviculure was restored at the beginning of 1990ies, together with rehabilitation of the whole Faculty of Forestry, later Faculty of Forestry and Environment. It continues the mission of the Prague´s silvicultural school, established by silviculturists as the professors Sigmond, Ševčík, Zlatuška, Svoboda, Mezera. At the renewed Faculty, the most important personality was professor Poleno, one of the most important representants of the close-to-nature forestry. This concept of the silviculture is the leading trend of the Department orientation since its most early beginnings.
