Nurse

The Bachelor study takes three years and upon graduating from it, the graduates get the authorization to perform health-care job with the consent of the Czech Ministry of Health. The main motive to implement this type of qualification study was to build an educational program comparable with European Union countries, to contribute to the implementation of the new conception of nursing care focused in hospital practice on active individualized care and in primary care on healthy living style of population and prevention of illnesses. The graduates from the study disciplines of Všeobecná sestra and Nurse will be able, based on the knowledge and skills from nursing, medicine and humane disciplines and based on the experience from practical training, to recognize the somatic and psychosocial needs of the ill client and to provide for the necessary care aimed at strengthening and maintaining health, at preventing illness and at caring for the ill client both during illness and during the client's recovery. The graduates will find employment in outpatient and ward health care facilities. They will have theoretical and practical preconditions to lead a nursing team, private practice or nursing agencies. If an applicant without qualification for performance of health-care job of Nurse without professional supervision applies for combined form of study of the discipline of Nurse and is admitted to study after having successfully passed the entrance examination, the applicant will have to pass practical lessons in an extent of 2 300 hours during the study in order to acquire professional qualification.
