The department handles lecturing, research and consultations. The food technology problematics of animal and plant products is proportionally divided among academic staff. Each member of the academic staff has his own specialization for lecturing, research and also consultations.
The department has fully equiped laboratories for analysis of basic plant and animal raw materials and also food products. There is the possibility to simulate some food technology steps (dairy technology, brewery) in specially equipt laboratory. In the frame of simulation, it is possible to analyse the factors, affecting the food technology process, change the factors and make the best quality of the product. The department has also the sensory laboratory, which is equiped according to ISO 8589.
